I can confirm the issue. It is a strange one as, in a way, the program is doing what you tell it to do ("don't rotate the object, rotate its base instead"). But the result is confusing. This is partly due to how beams are implemented. They are created as vertical extrusions (columns) which are then transformed. Additional problem is that the Base of a Structure can be a solid or (as in this case) a planar profile. I don't think this can be solved without redefining the Arch_Structure object. Maybe it needs to be more like an Arch_Frame object?

BTW: AFAIK the 'Set "Move base" property to True by default' preference is not checked by default.
